In this tutorial I'll be showing a series of images that detail the progression of a small doll. It's a tiny base by Esoterically that is a challenge to use. This doll was one in a series of four, for a collaboration of Music Video Dancers at Glam!. The doll is based on the dancer from the music video 'Push Up' by Freestylers. I added text on the images to express my thoughts at the moment of creation... deep, huh.

How to make pixel dolls

This is a list of tutorials written by other dollers. If you want to know how to draw dolls, this is a good place to start. Pixel shaded dolls are like pixel art: you can use any simple or advanced graphics program to create dolls that are pixel shaded. Tool shaded dolls are like digital paintings: you need a more advanced graphics or painting program to use the tools for the smoothing effects. Both types of shading are accepted and valid. They are both equal. Making pixel dolls is a great hobby.

Starting a website

Once you have a few dolls that you are proud of, you probably want to show them off to your friends, other dollers, maybe even the world. There are some easy ways to do that online, such as a photobucket account, online profile or an account at deviantART. All you have to do is create an account and upload your dolls in an easy way, and people can see all your hard work in an organised way.
